The Children’s Garden
We are a private, state licensed, preschool providing a quality early childhood education for children ages three to five years. The Children’s Garden is a community that provides a sense of continuity and security, a consistency of place and expectation outside the home. Teachers, parents and children are recognized as a team, learning and growing together throughout the school year.

Professional Educators
Directors
Connie Parsons has a B.S in Elementary Education from the University of Colorado and a Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education from the University of New Hampshire. Nancy Hotchkiss has a B.A in Psychology from Wheaton College and a Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education from the University of New Hampshire. Connie and Nancy have owned and directed The Children’s Garden in Portsmouth, New Hampshire since 1979.

Teachers
Our teachers are professional educators who work to create a caring and stimulating environment that supports every child’s journey to understanding. At The Children’s Garden, teachers are researchers, and the school becomes a laboratory, as children are encouraged to question, explore, imagine and construct. Through this learning process, children become persistent and flexible problem solvers. Children are viewed as active learners whose opinions and ideas are valued and fostered.

We invite you to call us (603) 431-6565 to schedule a visit for you and your child.
